How this federal estimate works
This site estimates federal tax for one self-employed Schedule C business. It works in your browser. It does not send calculator answers to this site.
What the estimate calculates
The estimate calculates net business profit, self-employment tax, half of self-employment tax as an adjustment, basic standard deduction, regular federal income tax, and regular estimated-tax payments.
Why some results are estimates
A deduction or credit can reduce tax. This first release omits some of them until the current rules are fully checked. Examples include the qualified business income deduction, mileage, qualified tips, senior deductions, and child-related credits. When an omitted item can apply, the result names it. The displayed result can be higher than your actual tax.
When the site cannot give an amount
Some facts can increase tax. If this release does not have a checked calculation for one of them, it shows an unsupported result with no tax amount and no payment schedule. This includes possible AMT, Additional Medicare Tax, and net investment income tax.
Sources
Each calculated value has a source record with a title, revision, date, and form locator. The main estimated-tax source is Form 1040-ES (2026).
